At what age can my child start riding?
The age at which your child starts riding can vary, depending on the child's size and maturity. Generally, however, most instructors require children to be at least seven years old before accepting them into a lesson program.
I have never ridden before. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Our horses are very quiet and experienced and our trainers are professional, safety is our first and foremost priority in everything we do.
Am i too old to ride?
No. There is no upper age limit.
Can I ride if I am pregnant?
Although this is a gentle ride, horses can be unpredictable; so please don't risk it.
I am an experienced rider; do you offer an 'experienced' ride?
Yes we cater for all levels of riding abilities. On our mountain rides, each trek is catered for the level of rider experience. However as each trail is mountainous there are various pathways where one enjoys the challenge of transversing the rugged terrain, enjoying the unique scenic view of carlingford lough.
We also cater for group and private lessons to all ages. Our training extends from complete beginner to those wishing to compete up to affiliated novice dressage. One metre sjai jumping and training to BHS stage three level.
What do I need to wear?
Loose warm clothing. Long trousers. Coats or jackets that zip or button up. Gloves. A Wellington boot or appropriate walking boot with a half inch heel.
The centre provides if required riding hats, riding boots and body protectors. However we do recommend try to bring your own suitable footwear.
